Position Purpose<\/p>\n

\u00a0The Credentialing Coordinator is primarily responsible for processing medical staff initial and reappointment applications. This position will manage specific credentialing activities assigned to them, prepare and process all credentialing activities and update and maintain current and accurate practitioner files according to the appropriate accrediting and regulatory agencies. This position will support hospitals with verification as they arise. The position will report to the Credentials Verification Office Manager.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities & Tasks<\/p>\n

Oversees assigned practitioner verifications for applications using pre-established workflows.
\nEnsures applications are verified per medical staff bylaws, TJC standards, and department policies.
\nLiaises between CVO\/hospital; completes verification documents; loads into credentialing software.
\nTracks responses and follows-up on items not received within established time frames.
\nCommunicates with hospitals about status of verification process, missing items, and red flags.
\nAfter quality review, notifies hospitals of packets ready for committee review.
\nMonitors practitioner appointment and credentials expiration dates for assigned hospitals.
\nFollows up with hospitals on approval dates and enters into database.
\nInactivates practitioners in database per hospital request and procedure.
\nConducts, participates in, and maintains credentialing and privileging.
\nMaintains a working knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
\nMaintains a working knowledge of Joint Commission standards.
\nMaintains confidentiality of all credentialing information.<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/p>\n

License or Certification:\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0CPCS or CPMSM preferred.<\/p>\n

Minimum Qualifications:<\/p>\n

High School diploma or equivalent
\nOne to three years of experience in medical staff credentialing preferred.
\nMicrosoft Office software, to include Outlook, Word, Excel<\/p>\n
