Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n

Model Validation and Risk Assessment
\nConduct independent validation of risk models, option pricing models, and other quantitative models used by the clearing house.
\nDevelop benchmark models to validate the model output and perform stress testing to evaluate model robustness.
\nAssess model performance, identify potential weaknesses, and recommend improvements.
\nDocumentation and Reporting
\nPrepare validation reports detailing the methodology, findings, and recommendations.
\nMaintain thorough documentation of model validation processes.
\nPresent findings to model owners and senior management.
\nOngoing Monitoring
\nDevelop reports \/ dashboards for continuous monitoring of model performance.
\nReview the monitoring approach and results of first-line risk management teams to identify trends and emerging risks.
\nDevelop and maintain analytics library to support the validation and continuous monitoring activities.
\nStakeholder Collaboration
\nWork closely with model developers, first-line risk management teams, and IT teams to understand the model design.
\nProvide guidance and training to stakeholders and junior team members on model risk management practices.
\nCollaborate with model owner to track and help remediate outstanding findings.<\/p>\n

Skills and Experience<\/p>\n

Essential<\/p>\n

A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, or related field.
\nExperience in model validation, model development, model risk management, or quantitative analysis within the financial services industry.
\nStrong knowledge of financial instruments and quantitative risk management concepts covering market risk, credit risk, and\/or liquidity risk.
\nProficient in statistical risk modelling techniques (e.g., Historical Value-at-Risk, Backtesting, and Stress Testing) and expertise in stochastic calculus and option pricing theory (e.g., Black-Scholes).
\nStrong programming skills in Python, including the scientific libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Polars, etc.) and SQL for manipulating large datasets.
\nHighly analytical skills, with a deep understanding of mathematical\/statistical models and their implementation in finance.
\nTeamwork and a collaborative attitude with the ability to provide effective challenge to first-line functions.
\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in translating complex technical concepts into clear reports and presentations.<\/p>\n

Desirable<\/p>\n

Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) and\/or certifications like PRM, FRM, or CFA.
\nPrevious experience in a similar role at a Central Counterparty or Clearing House.
\nKnowledge of regulatory requirements related to model risk (e.g., SR 11-7, Basel II\/III).
\nFamiliarity with exchange traded derivatives in asset classes such as Energy and Environmentals, Soft Commodities, Equities, Interest Rates, and Bonds.
\nExperience with developing and using dashboards and reporting tools like Tableau.<\/p>\n
