1\u00a0 Position Summary:<\/p>\n

To perform the duties as required in the MC Shop department specific to the CNC machines in order to ensure production requirements are met as well as being responsible for setup, programming and troubleshooting.\u00a0\u00a0 These duties are to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner ensuring quality of the product and production rates are met. \u00a0<\/p>\n

2\u00a0 Primary Responsibilities & Duties:<\/p>\n

Set up, operate, program and troubleshoot various CNC machines
\nLead and train CNC operators in troubleshooting and correcting faults
\nRead and edit programs on CNC equipment with various controllers
\nTroubleshoot tooling and equipment issues
\nFill out production sheets, tags, and Shoplogix
\nProduce products to the rates and standards as set out in the Work Order
\nFollow proper setup instructions and procedures (layouts)
\nRead and interpret production blueprints
\nUse appropriate gauges in order to produce products to quality standards
\nReport quality and\/or tooling issues
\nPerform minor repairs on equipment as required
\nEnsure product is running at optimum cycle times according to standards
\nEdit and modify CNC computer programs as necessary
\nCommunicate effectively with service technicians as required
\nRotation through various work cells and shifts
\nSee PDA for comprehensive list of physical and work environment demands<\/p>\n

3\u00a0 Health & Safety:<\/p>\n

Maintain a safe workplace
\nWear Personal Protective equipment as required on the shop floor
\nComply with the company policies, procedures, and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act)
\nParticipation is required in our internal responsibility system (right to know, right to refuse, right to participate)
\nFollow safe work and lockout \/ tagout procedures as required
\nReport unsafe conditions or hazards as soon as possible to your supervisor
\nMaintain a clean working environment
\nAdhere to and maintain WHMIS 2015 requirements
\nAnnual medical surveillance may be required<\/p>\n

4 Quality:<\/p>\n

Follow all area work instructions and procedures in order to ensure quality standards are adhered to
\nMeasure product with supplied gauging as outlined in the quality standards to ensure quality products are being made
\nReport any potentially defective or damaged products or packaging to the quality dept and your supervisor
\nFollow the control of non-conforming product procedure for any defective products found in your area
\nUse the vision system to complete first off inspection per run<\/p>\n

5\u00a0 Autonomous Maintenance:<\/p>\n

Prior to start of shift, take 10 min to inspect your work cell to the cell specific AM requirements
\nSign off on the AM checklist daily (initial and date)
\nFollow the Process Problem Solving and Escalation system as required for any issues found<\/p>\n

6\u00a0 5S:<\/p>\n

Ensure your work area is maintained at required daily 5S standards
\nTake 5 minutes at the end of your shift to follow the daily 5S standards as posted in your work cell
\nSign off on the 5S checklist daily (initial and date)
\nCorrect any deviations from 5S standards immediately or write it down on the cell board for follow up
\nSupport the monthly 5S clean up as required<\/p>\n

7\u00a0 Daily Management:<\/p>\n

Input WO and production information as required into the Shoplogix system
\nInput scrap during shift on Shoplogix system (input the scrap code and quantity)
\nInput the correct downtime code for any downtime that the Shoplogix system identifies
\nParticipate in DM meetings and problem solving on a weekly basis
\nUse cell level board and data to drive process problem solving and escalation
\nCommunicate issues at the cell level board as required<\/p>\n

8 Standard Work:<\/p>\n

Follow Standard Work procedures as posted in the cell
\nCorrect any deviations from standard work procedures immediately<\/p>\n

9\u00a0 Qualification:<\/p>\n

Ability to read blueprints
\nKnowledge of programming is an asset
\nAbility to read, and comprehend various machine manuals
\nAbility to use various measuring devices
\nAbility to use JDE system (Work orders for products)
\nKnowledge of all quality related requirements for inspection
\nAbility to understand CNC machine programs and fault correction
\nGood math skills are required
\nExcellent computer skills
\nAbility to read and follow work instructions
\nAbility to read job packages and Work Orders
\nTechnical background and general knowledge of machines
\nKnowledge and ability to do tool grinding
\nExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
\nSuccessful completion of all applicable pre-employment testing
\nAbility to work in a collaborative team environment
\nMust obtain a grade of 90% or better<\/p>\n

10\u00a0 Educational Requirements:<\/p>\n

O.S.S.D or equivalent
\nHaving a passing grad of 90% or better on all testing requirements<\/p>\n
