POSITION SUMMARY:<\/p>\n

Performs a variety of duties relating to the patient and the environment, reporting observations to the nurse in charge. Works the assigned unit based on need designated by the nursing supervisor. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and\/or unit. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, and follows nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and standards as pertinent to scope of practice and hospital role. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Assists in the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients, safeguarding patients\u2019 personal belongings.
\nPerforms simple nursing duties in the care of selected patients, as directed by an RN.
\nAssists in moving, lifting, turning, and ambulating patients, using patient lifts as instructed.
\nMaintains a clean and safe environment for the patient.
\nProvides for patient privacy and safety.
\nProvides direct nursing care for assigned patients \u2013 comfort, nutritional, and hygiene care

Education\/Formal Training:\u00a0 High School graduate or equivalent preferred.\u00a0 Requires successful completion of an approved nurse aide training program in North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Licensure\/Certification:<\/p>\n

CNA I Certification: Must have current NC Nurse Aide I Registry listing verified through the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Services Regulation with no pending or substantiated findings of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or misappropriation of resident or patient property recorded on State’s registry of nurse aides.
\nBLS: Must have current BLS certification through the American Heart Association,\u00a0or obtain within 30 days of hire date.<\/p>\n
