Univar Work From Home Jobs Advisor Full Time<\/p>\n

The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operational activity to meet Univar Solutions\u2019 transportation customer service and financial targets efficiently. The role is to be the main site point of contact for Transportation execution and implementation of activities led by the District Transportation Manager and other Transportation regional and department strategy initiatives.<\/p>\n

What you’ll do:<\/p>\n

Private Fleet Operations<\/p>\n

Direct manager supervising drivers and ensures drivers are dispatched and return safely.
\nHandles labor hours and consumable supplies within the forecast budget and prepares driver work schedules including extra workdays, overtime, and shift hours as needed.
\nMonitors driver performance and ensures on-time service levels are met.
\nReviews delivery functions and productivity critical metric reports to supervise and takes action on ways to improve dispatch routing or increase truck utilization.
\nEnsures driver routes are optimized and driver workflow is efficient.
\nAssist with the hiring process for new drivers.<\/p>\n

Environmental, Health, and Safety & Regulatory Compliance (DOT, Hour of Service, Training, Etc.)<\/p>\n

Interprets, trains, and consistently implements Company policies, protocols, and procedures including but not limited to food safety, DOT, EHS, internal audit, record keeping, etc.
\nEnsures Driver compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies (i.e., DOT, OSHA, etc.) and ensures that electronic logs are kept current and accurate.
\nCoordinates efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, updating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to identify root cause, and routine safety inspections.
\nResponsible for record keeping and driver credentials (HazMat, tanker endorsements, DOT physicals, Federal drug testing, etc.)
\nWill work with DTM and other personnel if and when a safety spill or release has occurred at the customer site, enroute to delivery, or on-site.<\/p>\n

Fleet Maintenance and Asset Management<\/p>\n

Responsible for licensing, registration, and preventative maintenance of the private fleet as well as coordinating repairs with proper departments.
\nInteracts with key maintenance vendors and Element to ensure quotes and work is completed efficiently.
\nAccountable for the proper selection utilization of company assets in support of the Transportation department.
\nMonitors maintenance and repair spending and communicates with DTM on areas of overspending or areas of improvement to keep cost spend within budget.<\/p>\n

Carrier Performance and Route Guide Compliance<\/p>\n

Resolves tactical issues with carriers to ensure on-time pickup and will collaborate with the DTP of carrier enroute or delivery delays.
\nMakes recommendations for improvement, specifically in areas of efficiency, cost reduction, and assists with the implementation of effective service delivery changes.
\nVisits customer locations and meets with customers to address issues and assess delivery difficulty as needed.
\nSuccessfully engages and leads individual and team discussions and meetings.
\nApplies all relevant policies in a consistent, timely, and objective manner.<\/p>\n

What you’ll need:<\/p>\n

High School Diploma\/GED required
\nBachelor\u2019s degree preferred, not required.
\n3-5 years of supervisory leadership experience, leading and dispatching drivers.
\nKnowledgeable in DOT, FMCSA, and Hours of Service regulations.
\nUnderstanding of Microsoft Office applications.
\nKnowledge of chemical distribution facility operation preferred.
\nMay require HazMat certification, TWIC credentials.<\/p>\n
