The West Power Commercial Operations Desk is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the team and support commercial operations in the CAISO, the western US and Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a broad range of activities, including wholesale pricing; customer reporting; scheduling; market analysis; modelling; and research.\u00a0 This role in intended to provide the foundation for high performers to advance into a power trading career path.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Essential Duties\/Responsibilities:<\/p>\n

Manage pre-scheduling, tie-outs and NERC e-tagging for WECC physical power transactions
\nAssist with CAISO Congestion Revenue Right (CRR) allocation and auction processes
\nDevelop comprehensive models to analyze commodity markets, price new business opportunities and advise customers
\nIdentify opportunities for new business with wholesale counterparties including Community Choice Aggregations (CCAs), utilities as well as other wholesale energy companies
\nManage and validate short-term CCA forecasts and position reports
\nAssist Regulatory and Compliance Teams as required to ensure a prompt and comprehensive response to regulatory developments as well as timely compliance to existing regulations
\nProvide research as needed to identify possible strategic business opportunities<\/p>\n

\nStrong spreadsheet, programming, and presentation skills
