GENERAL FUNCTION:<\/p>\n

Works both independently and within teams to conduct complex data analysis and identify, assess and mitigate financial crimes risk. Executes policies and procedures to meet the bank’s compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards. Assumes leadership responsibilities within a group or team.<\/p>\n

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Banks risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.<\/p>\n

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n

Assumes team leadership roles and responsibilities as required by management.
\nPossesses strong working knowledge of financial crimes trends and typologies.
\nMeets regulatory and business deadlines.
\nMakes appropriate risk decisions related to financial crimes risk.
\nWrites accurate and complete reports that are supported by facts.
\nConsidered a subject matter expert in the specific field for which they have a responsibility and the related Bancorp policies and procedures
\nPerforms required tasks with minimal supervision.
\nMay lead team meetings or conduct one-on-ones with peers or direct reports
\nUnderstands the impact of organizational changes and assists with communicating those changes.
\nMaintains knowledge of current and emerging issues and risks in the compliance and regulatory environment.
\nContributes to financial crimes policies, procedures, and risk assessments as required.
\nIdentifies areas of process improvement to increase departmental efficiencies.
\nManages projects designed to improve the quality or efficiency of work produced.
\nMaintains strong working relationships with all business lines and support groups.
\nPrepares and manages communications with business lines, support groups, and external parties to ensure timely receipt of the requested information.
\nConducts complex data analysis and document findings appropriately.
\nLeads special projects as assigned.
\nProvides data and analytical support to business partners.

BANK SECRECY ACT REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n

Responsible for adhering to the reporting and record keeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, observing economic sanctions by prohibiting transactions as specified by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), following the bank’s customer identification program (CIP) rules, observing all Bank policies and procedures relating to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and related acts, and participation in ongoing related training.
\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May have supervisory responsibilities for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:<\/p>\n

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
\nFive + years of financial crimes or equivalent experience.
\nStrong understanding of financial crimes trends, typologies, and regulatory requirements.
\nSolid understanding of first lines operational and organizational structure and Fifth Third Bank products and services.
\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.
\nAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization in a clear concise manner.
\nMust be able to demonstrate sound judgment and apply logical and critical thought processes when developing solutions or recommendations.
\nHighly organized with the ability to multi-task and work under stringent deadlines.
\nAbility to work independently and have strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
\nPossesses the ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires the management of multiple and competing priorities.
\nAbility to provide continuous coaching and training support to employees as required.
\nDemonstrates decisive leadership ability.
