The Opportunity:<\/p>\n

Reporting to the Global Director of Infrastructure and Products, This job, under limited direction, is responsible for provisioning, installation\/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure within the Assurant Web Hosting environment both on premises and in the cloud. In addition, provide guidance to less experienced engineers.<\/p>\n

As a Web App Support Engineer, you will be responsible for global administration and support of distributed computing systems including Cloud and on Premises. You will work closely with our global teams to support Assurant Web Hosting infrastructures (both physical and virtual).<\/p>\n

60% – Primary role is to ensure the global stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the systems and infrastructure that support core organizational functions. To monitor systems and ensure availability that corresponds to published SLAs
\n20% – Solid working knowledge of job role demonstrating application of technical skills and interpersonal competencies
\n20% – Provides direct global technical leadership and support for all requirements in planning, coordination, scripting, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to our distributed computing environment. This includes managing several small and medium scale projects and\/or tasks of various complexities across the enterprise.
\nSome after-hours work will be required
\nPosition will require participation in an after-hours, on-call rotation to assist with incident handling and troubleshooting Web Hosting infrastructure issues
\nThis position has the potential to have a sliding shift start\/stop times to ensure we have global coverage 24\/7.<\/p>\n

You will have the following experience:<\/p>\n

Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
\nExperience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and related technologies
\nExperience with F5 LTM or Avi load balancers
\nSome knowledge of Siteminder and security products helpful
\nSome knowledge of Linux and Apache
\nExperience using ServiceNow ITIL managed processes
\nInstalling and supporting Microsoft IIS Webservers.
\nInstalling and supporting WebSphere Application Server
\nTroubleshooting Web Environments. This includes a good understanding and hands on use of tools such as Fiddler, Wireshark, Dynatrace etc.
\nManaging IaaS and PaaS in Microsoft Azure
\nSolid working knowledge of load balances such as Avi, F5 LTM, Netscaler. Must understand the concepts of load balancing regardless of platform.
\nExperience with PowerShell and \/ or Python
\nIn-depth knowledge of server technologies employed hardware, O\/S, and related tools and applications.
\nAdvanced technical diagnostic and research skills.
\nAbility to identify and escalate issues to management when appropriate to meet SLA Requirements.
\nGood foundational knowledge of networking components and services such as TCP\/IP protocols, DHCP and DNS technologies.
\nRequires ability to correctly access risks of various alternatives and take appropriate actions to restore services in the event of system outages.
\nAbility to explain the technical implications of various alternative solutions to management<\/p>\n
