Navistar’s Springfield Assembly Plant has an exciting new opportunity for a\u00a0Senior Manufacturing\u00a0Engineer\u00a0to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for working with Product Engineering to support new vehicle launches. The Manufacturing Engineer develops dynamic torque tooling solutions and drives torque data collection for current products and standard launch activities in the plant.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/p>\n

Develops, implements, and maintains methods and operation sequence. Processes tasks in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering and production in coordinating the release of new products and tooling
\nEstimates manufacturing cost, determines process standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of current product lines and new product applications
\nMaintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations
\nWorks with vendors to define torque tooling and write specifications to suppliers to procure tooling and implement tools for new vehicle launches as well as manages projects involving torque tool installations on current product changes
\nPlans and conducts all aspects of tooling installation including timelines, procurement, design specifications, and implementation.
\nSchedules, plans, monitors, and reports out on activities and key performance indicators
\nWorks with multiple departments to complete projects and\/or tasks plus manages multiple projects\/tasks within the given timelines
\nThis position has a high level of visibility with senior management<\/p>\n

Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n

Bachelor\u2019s degree
\nAt least 2 years of product manufacturing experience
\nMaster\u2019s degree\u00a0
\nAt least 4 years of product manufacturing experience.<\/p>\n

Desired Skills<\/p>\n

Experience in torque\/fastening systems
\nExperience with 2D\/3D design modeling within AutoCAD or SolidWorks
\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills
\nAbility to work with all levels of management and floor personnel
\nProficient in Microsoft Excel, Minitab, Project, and data tracking software
\nAvailable and willing to travel in support of product launches at other facilities if needed
\nAbility to manage multiple tasks
\nExperience developing and implementing torque tooling solutions
\nProject management experience<\/p>\n
