The Role:<\/p>\n

We currently have a vacancy for an Automation Test Engineer to join a multi-disciplined Scrum Team to work on a multi-year transformation programme for our client, developing complex applications in a high assurance environment.\u00a0 The engineer will be responsible for development and maintenance of automation test scripts and test reporting using both industry standard automation test suites and custom developed frameworks within a fully operational test system. The testing process will follow an agile development and release process that supports critical customer mission goals around National Security using manual and automated testing techniques and tools.<\/p>\n

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work independently and as part of a team.<\/p>\n

What will I be doing?<\/p>\n

Responsible for the creation of test plans, procedures and reports detailing the test process and infrastructure to appropriately assess that\u00a0products\/deliverables\u00a0meet defined requirements.
\nWork independently, or with a team of software and systems engineers; must be knowledgeable in industry-standard testing tools and methodologies.
\nResponsible for briefing the customer on any Test reviews \u2013 TRR \/ TER.
\nUse custom built automated test tools and operate in a secure environment.
\nImplementing an appropriate Test Automation framework, integrated with CI\/CD pipeline tools, with test results integrated back into JIRA.
\nSupporting Software Developers in automating Unit and Component Tests.
\nMaintaining the baseline of automated tests each sprint.
\nEdit and run automated test scripts; create automated and manual test scripts for processes that are not yet automated.
\nContribute to the scrum teams, participate in daily scrums, and be proactive on work tasks and obstacle resolution.
\nMust be a dynamic, innovative, self-starting problem solver that can operate with minimal supervision.<\/p>\n

What skills does Leidos need from me?<\/p>\n

Good understanding of the Testing Lifecycle and the different types of testing such as Functional and Integration Testing.
\nExperience of creating Test Cases based on requirements and design documents.
\nExperience in conducting manual tests.
\nExperience with Test Automation frameworks (e.g. Katalon Studio, Selenium, Cucumber, SoapUI, Junit, DART, or similar) and integrating them into CI\/CD pipelines.
\nAgile workload management and bug tracking (e.g. Jira, BitBucket, Xray\/Zephyr or similar).
\nMust have a strong working knowledge of scripting and\/or programming (e.g., Python, Java, C, C++, C#, Assembly, etc.).
\nExperience working in a regulated testing environment and Agile teams.
\nStrong oral and written communication skills \u2013 ability to communicate with technical and non-technical team members.
\nSelf-motivated and willing to speak to colleagues to find out missing information.
\nEnthusiastic, proactive, troubleshooting attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies.<\/p>\n

Working with large-scale and complex integration programmes.
\nExperience of working on secure Government, or MoD IT projects and programmes.
\nPerformance testing and measurement of integrated systems.
\nOrganizing\/supporting\u00a0user acceptance testing (UAT) prior to Production deployment.
\nContinuous\u00a0Integration\/Continuous\u00a0Delivery tools.
\nNegative testing concepts and risk assessment reporting.
\nCode equality scans (e.g., SonarQube).<\/p>\n

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree: A degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
