This position is for a Principal Lead Systems Engineering professional with highly developed technical expertise to lead the Systems Development and Qualification efforts on a new\/in-process system development program. The scope of the position includes the ability to train engineers on the team, take ownership of the technical challenges of the program, and define standard work for any process gaps related to new and existing processes used on the program.<\/p>\n

Primary Responsibilities:<\/p>\n

Be the primary technical interface with the customer.
\nManage project requirements development and implementation.
\nLead a team of engineers of varying experience; provide direction and guidance to ensure all Systems milestones are met.
\nLiaise with other functional groups to ensure product requirements are clearly defined and understood.
\nWork closely with the Verification lead to ensure all requirements are associated with a thorough verification plan.
\nSupport project engineering in the creation and maintenance of schedules, work packages, and change board material.\u00a0 Ensure work performed is in-scope and highlight any areas of scope creep to the program office.
\nSupport CIPT to monitor budgets, cost, effectiveness, and reliability of activities and make recommendations to optimize quality, resource usage, spending, and schedule adherence.
\nSupport program risk identification, mitigation, and management activities.
\nBe the primary Systems focal in all program Collins CMS and QMS required reviews.
\nProvide clear status and direction in weekly Systems and Program level meetings.
\nSupport programs change board activity.
\nUnderstand the major program milestones related to Systems and ensure they are met.
\nManage technical risks and opportunities to retire risks where possible and where this cannot be done provide mitigation plans to recover.
\nEnsure program quality is maintained for individual\/other team member contributions.
\nSupport development and qualification efforts, including leading the generation of text execution documents, and executing tests on the Systems Test Stand.
\nSupport qualification reporting efforts.
\n10% domestic travel as needed.<\/p>\n

Qualifications\/Experience Needed:<\/p>\n

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws\/regulations and minimum 3 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.<\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications:<\/p>\n

ARP4754 background.
\nModel-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Experience.
\nCustomer-facing experience.
\nBackground in motor control development.
\nPrior experience leading a team of Systems Engineers.
\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering is preferred.<\/p>\n
