We are looking for a Project Engineer, reporting to the Lead Engineer\/Project Manager, to oversee engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion. The role is based in Coventry Tech Center.<\/p>\n

Main Responsibilities :<\/p>\n

Interpret all specifications and generate concepts for a design solution that meet them.
\nDevelop a Bill of Materials that is accurate and complete and provides clear revision control.
\nDevelop and engineer components and sub-assemblies for each BoM item that Lear is design responsible for.
\nSupport the customer and the supplier base (whether directed or otherwise) to develop their components.
\nIntegrate all components and sub-systems into the seat(s)
\nAnalyse the product, virtually and physically, and capture any issues in an open issues list.
\nResolve technical issues in the product by removing the root cause.
\nProvide interim containments whilst root cause is being removed, with written work instructions for execution.
\nEnsure that the engineering drawings produced for each product are complete and unambiguous.
\nHave working knowledge of legal, customer and Lear seating and safety requirements
\nEnsure the product meets all legal requirements
\nEnsure the product meets all customer requirements
\nEnsure the product meets all Lear requirements
\nEnsure the product is feasible to manufacture.
\nRelease all components and assemblies to the Lear and customer PLM systems
\nPerform tolerance calculations to ensure functional requirements are met
\nOrder parts and ensure effective revision control for engineering builds, samples and mock-ups
\nParticipate in the building of Moment of Truth (prototype) seats and creating physical component mock ups.
\nEnsure all test plans are complete and demonstrate adherence to all applicable specifications
\nSupport the Lear and customer manufacturing facilities in resolving technical issues from the product post job 1
\nMonitor and audit best cost country offshore tasks<\/p>\n

Key Skills and Qualifications:<\/p>\n

Bachelor\u2019s degree in engineering
\nTertiary level STEM qualification.
\n2 years\u2019 experience in a mechanical engineering role
\n5 years\u2019 experience in automotive seating is preferred
\nAbility to create and communicate engineering schemes from either surrogate parts or new concepts
\nAbility to read an engineering drawing.
\nAbility to use MS office suit applications<\/p>\n
