Job Description<\/p>\n

Accountable for site standards and processes relevant to the design, operation and maintenance of instrumentation and protective systems
\nDevelop and own our Functional Safety Management System (FSMS)\u202fin compliance with the requirements of EN 61511
\nProvide Instrument engineering assurance to projects, including formal review of external (3rd party) engineering documentation
\nBe the arbitrator on all technical issues related to the Instrument discipline
\nCustodian and ownership of common Instrument discipline processes such as Functional Safety Analysis (FSA)
\nCarry out and approve SIF reliability calculations
\nReview and approve deviations to discipline standards and practices
\nProvide technical responses to discipline related Technical Queries (TQs)
\nDefine Instrument Engineering competency requirements and provide assurance of business wide Instrumentation competency and discipline health
\nTechnical review and approval of relevant discipline MOCs
\nProvide Instrument expertise to incident investigations
\nDefine long term opportunities for Instrumentation improvements
\nLead or contribute to safety reviews, risk assessments and investigations as the instrumentation engineering focal point.<\/p>\n

Support the maintenance teams by developing planned maintenance routines
\nSupport the maintenance teams in regard to equipment breakdowns, including investigation of equipment faults and defect elimination
\nMonitor and advise on the technical and safety implications of any maintenance backlogs
\nDevelopment of discipline training material for engineers and technicians
\nDevelopment and ongoing management of Instrumentation maintenance strategies and testing procedures
\nTechnical review of deferral requests for instrumentation maintenance and repair activities
\nSupport the planning and execution of\u202fshutdowns and major outages\/turnarounds
\nFinancial \/ Contract and Personnel Management
\nGenerates ideas for cost saving\/efficiencies
\nCoach, support and mentor team members\/peers
\nSignificant input to projects completions processes<\/p>\n

Competency Requirements<\/p>\n

Degree in Instrumentation Engineering
\nChartered Instrument Engineer or working towards chartership
\nSupervisor experience preferential
\nFamiliarity with CDM Regulations
\nExtensive Operation & Maintenance experience in the oil & gas industry or other regulated industry
\nSound knowledge of instrument engineering principles and proven ability to apply them to real-world problems
\nHold a Full UK driving licence and to drive company vehicles where appropriate
\nDemonstrate effective interpersonal, leadership skills and supervisory competence
\nKnowledge and experience of the design, operation, commissioning and maintenance of Safety Instrumented Systems to IEC 61511
\nAbility to use Microsoft packages and SAP
\nGood reporting, communication and workload management
\nTUV Functional Safety Certification (Preferred)<\/p>\n
