This dynamic role will provide a diverse finance experience including financial reporting, analytics, controllership and accounting, project management, and process improvement. The Accounting Supervisor will collaborate with the controller, members of the Vulcan management team, and SDI employees, both within and outside the Division to fulfill responsibilities with these and other areas.

Responsibilities
Supervision of accounting, credit/collections, payroll/benefits, and human resources staff.
Participate in compiling of divisional financial statements, operations analysis, forecasting, and other reporting requirements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Preparation and review/approval of journal entries and reconciliations.
Participate in audits of the physical inventory process.
Validate compliance with and develop/enhance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Coordinate with Internal Audit when applicable.

Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant in active status (or working towards certification), with at least a four-year accounting degree and 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
Prior supervision or leadership experience preferred.
Relevant core-competencies: time management, highly organized, project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze information and thoroughly document findings.
Attention to detail with a zero errors mindset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
