This position is for a Principal Lead Systems Engineering professional with highly developed technical expertise to lead the Systems Development and Qualification efforts on a new/in-process system development program. The scope of the position includes the ability to train engineers on the team, take ownership of the technical challenges of the program, and define standard work for any process gaps related to new and existing processes used on the program.

Primary Responsibilities:
Be the primary technical interface with the customer.
Manage project requirements development and implementation.
Lead a team of engineers of varying experience; provide direction and guidance to ensure all Systems milestones are met.
Liaise with other functional groups to ensure product requirements are clearly defined and understood.
Work closely with the Verification lead to ensure all requirements are associated with a thorough verification plan.
Support project engineering in the creation and maintenance of schedules, work packages, and change board material. Ensure work performed is in-scope and highlight any areas of scope creep to the program office.
Support CIPT to monitor budgets, cost, effectiveness, and reliability of activities and make recommendations to optimize quality, resource usage, spending, and schedule adherence.
Support program risk identification, mitigation, and management activities.
Be the primary Systems focal in all program Collins CMS and QMS required reviews.
Provide clear status and direction in weekly Systems and Program level meetings.
Support programs change board activity.
Understand the major program milestones related to Systems and ensure they are met.
Manage technical risks and opportunities to retire risks where possible and where this cannot be done provide mitigation plans to recover.
Ensure program quality is maintained for individual/other team member contributions.
Support development and qualification efforts, including leading the generation of text execution documents, and executing tests on the Systems Test Stand.
Support qualification reporting efforts.
10% domestic travel as needed.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 3 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
ARP4754 background.
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Experience.
Customer-facing experience.
Background in motor control development.
Prior experience leading a team of Systems Engineers.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering is preferred.
