What You’ll Do
We’re looking for an exceptional Associate Accountant to join our Principal Asset Management Fund Reporting team at Principal Financial Group. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in conducting daily and monthly accounting transactions, month-end close activities, and other related duties.
As an Associate Accountant, you will be responsible for:
Conducting month-end close activities.
Performing basic accounting analysis and reporting of financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or other regulatory guidance.
Calculating routine journal entries and providing accurate and timely financial submissions.
Reconciling accounts and preparing financial data for inclusion in the financial control process.
Conducting routine variance analysis.

Who You Are
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or 8+ years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Adaptability to changing business needs.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Teams).
