Job Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records, patient charts, and reports to accurately assign appropriate codes
- Ensure compliance with all relevant coding guidelines and regulations
- Utilize coding software and tools to validate and assign accurate codes
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to resolve coding discrepancies
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information
- Meet coding productivity and accuracy targets
Requirements
- Proven experience and expertise in medical coding
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIT, etc.)
- Proficient in using coding software and related tools
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with coding guidelines such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
