Responsibilities
- Review and analyze patient medical records for appropriate coding and billing
- Translate medical services, procedures, and diagnoses into appropriate codes
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and medical documentation
- Accurately process claims and billing information
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve coding discrepancies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations and changes
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing and coding matters
- Adhere to all patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations
Requirements
- Minimum of X years of experience in medical billing and coding
- Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIT)
- Proficiency in various coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record systems
