The Project Management Engineer maximizes value by making business recommendations based on sound technical judgement using a firmly rooted understanding of rules, policies, and surface and business constraints to ensure operational readiness in support of corporate goals and objectives.  Provides engineering support to Project Management, Operations, Resource Development, Geology, Marketing, Land, IT through planning and creation of technical regulatory documents This position will be responsible for designing and implementing robotic process automation (RPA) solutions to improve the efficiency of business processes. This role requires a strong understanding of RPA technologies, programming languages, and business operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Requires face-to-face engagement, building relationships with other departments to stay informed.

Leverages influence to address, resolve or mitigate issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Review and work with Regulatory team and Operations to create & update technical plans, related to drilling and completion activities including directional plans, cement proposals, proper sizing of BOP, casing design, wellbore diagrams, and surface use plans for well pads, pipelines and gathering systems.

Maintain a deep understanding of regulatory rules, regulations, environmental, archeological, and biological policies in multiple basins.

Work closely with Regulatory teams and bodies as well as Government Affairs to influence modifications to rules as necessary.

Actively engage in influencing compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies by communicating findings to the team to help properly define and lead development plans.

Able to effectively communicate operations efficiencies and concerns with regulatory and legislative agencies, i.e. ROW, drilling, simultaneous operations, centralized tank batteries, etc.

Be an integral member in asset team meetings; advise the group on regulatory hurdles, surface settlement timing and / or physical constraints, required development needs, and forthcoming regulations that could impact CLR operations.

Understand fundamentals of wellbore design and casing integrity, business processes, decision timing and management

Lead meetings and manage multiple projects involving numerous departments, driving continuous alignment, rapid execution, and deliverable excellence.

Mentor and train less experienced members of the team.  Work with both office and field personnel to ensure Continental remains in compliance.

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that automation goals are met, identify opportunities to help streamline workflows across Project Management, Drilling, and Regulatory and work towards executing on those opportunities.

Design, develop, and test automation workflows using RPA tools.

Troubleshoot and debug RPA solutions to ensure their accuracy and performance.

Maintain and update automated processes according to changes in system or business operations.

Document RPA development processes and best practices.

Be a leader in advocating for further improvements in the citizen development ecosystem, help develop ideal vision and work with IT to execute that vision.

Travel as needed.

Strong working knowledge in common Oil & Gas databases and application like WellView, ARIES, Procount/Carte, Horizon, ESRI ARCGIS, Spotfire/Power BI

Strong programming experience in Microsoft SQL, Python and automation using UiPath or other programs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related engineering discipline

Minimum of 5 years’ experience

Ability to travel on occasion as needed

An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year oilfield operations experience

Registered Professional Engineer (PE)

PMP Certification

Experience with RPA technologies (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere)
