The Community You Will Join: 

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate storyteller to join our communications team to help deliver data-driven stories that keep Airbnb front of mind. This role entails finding insights, innovating ways to tap into trends, as well as creating compelling approaches to visualize and convey Airbnb’s story to the world.

The Difference You Will Make:

Airbnb is seeking a Communications  Manager, NAMER Editorial Data to support the Communications team. In this role, the Manager will focus on big events as an opportunity to shape our messaging and data storytelling during significant moments. The individual will also work on media requests and contribute insights for newsroom posts as well as press pitches.

A Typical Day: 

  • Analyze data for major events and identify compelling data points for external storytelling
  • Assist in the development and execution of data-driven campaigns
  • Write reproducible, dynamic queries on SQL and peer review colleagues’ queries
  • Provide data insights to guide editorial decisions and contribute to written materials such as press releases, story pitches, messaging briefs, talking points, etc
  • Ideate ways to tie data into ongoing trends or current events
  • Complete data assignments within specified timelines and report results in a clear manner
  • Measure and analyze event coverage to identify learnings and insights for proactive media outreach
  • Convey data through easy-to-understand visualizations, maps, etc

Your Expertise:

  • At least 5-8 years of professional experience in data or relevant field with a demonstrated ability to derive actionable insights from large datasets
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as R or Python
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or D3 is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear storylines for non-technical audience
  • Experience working on projects in a fast-paced environment

Your Location:

This position is US – Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
