The copywriter must exhibit advanced writing knowledge and SEO/SEM skills along with an ability to collaborate throughout Avantor’s matrixed organization to ensure quality, verbal and visual consistency and timeliness of material. This person must ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory restrictions. US English mastery, strong business acumen, storytelling and presentation skills, agility, high energy, and a collaborative approach are all essential to ensure success in delivering quality, brand-appropriate verbal and visual consistency and content relevance.

What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, journalism, communications or related field.
External or in-house agency experience required.
Healthcare, life sciences and/or biopharma research and writing experience are nice to have.
Minimum of five years of professional-level writing experience required.
Portfolio / writing samples demonstrating UK English language mastery required.
Ability to quickly research competitive content approaches to suggest content approach.
Ability to search our existing content (or collaborate with MarComm team) to see if items can be quickly repurposed as new content.
Solid SEO/SEM knowledge
US English language mastery, demonstrated through a strong portfolio of copywriting and editorial
Technical/Scientific background a strong plus
Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
Ability to work independently with general supervision.
Navigates business challenges effectively, collaborates at all levels of the organization including Director and ELT levels.
Strong presentation skills
Biopharma, life science, and healthcare knowledge
Understanding of writing applications in traditional and emerging channels; applies expertise to solve challenges and connect story to customer.
Ability to maintain a consistent voice and audience focus in writing.

Write creative, effective copy according to project specifications and/or creative brief.
Maintain single narrative voice, implementing consistency throughout content – balancing supplier needs with company standards.
Research clients, their competitors and the target audience to support creative strategy and inform the execution.
Provide writing support for aligned client group(s), as well as supporting projects from other clients as demand and scheduling requires.
Produce original, relevant, clear and credible copy and be accountable for the final development of creative assets that engage and inform customer and deliver a clear call to action.
Implement SEO/SEM enhancement in all web/digital content.
Ensure accuracy, attention to detail and that the project overall meets or exceeds the writing objectives.
Ensure messaging brand guidelines and directives are embraced and adhered to in all executions.
Adhere to regulatory and compliance regulations.
Execute writing requests with accuracy, producing zero errors in work (all client edits are implemented correctly, spell check was run, facts were confirmed)
Respond to all requests and communications in a timely and thorough manner.
Work to improve the team’s overall performance and embrace a collaborative approach.
Support peers by reviewing work to ensure zero errors in work per above.
Edit and proofread material as demand and scheduling requires.
Support leadership in helping to build a unified team mindset.
