Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing patient information and medical records to accurately assign codes and modifiers for billing purposes
- Submitting medical claims to insurance companies using electronic systems or paper-based formats
- Following up on unpaid or denied claims, identifying and resolving any issues or errors
- Communicating with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing-related queries
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of medical coding guidelines, insurance regulations, and industry best practices
Requirements:
- Prior experience in medical billing and coding, with knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately process large volumes of data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively
